Officially the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, also known as Burma (the official name until 1989), is a country in Southeast Asia. It is the largest country by area in Mainland Southeast Asia. Myanmar, formerly Burma part of the 'Golden Triangle' where the conditions for opium growing are ideal. Myanmar along with China, Laos and Thailand make up the golden triangle responsible for the lions share of the worlds opium supply to the heroin trade.
